Welcome to Saints Girls Rugby League
At Macarthur Saints, we believe rugby league should be an opportunity for everyone in our community. We want to create an environment where girls can develop their skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships and enjoy being part of the Saints family.
We’re working towards establishing girls rugby league at Macarthur Saints for the 2027 season, and all girls are welcome. Whether she already plays rugby league or is looking to return to the game, we want to hear from her.
Our goal is bigger than simply forming a team in 2027. We want to build something that lasts.
Keeping Our Girls at the Saints
For many years, girls have been an important part of the Macarthur Saints community, playing alongside the boys in our younger age groups.
However, as girls progress through the junior age groups, the opportunities to continue playing within a mixed competition become more limited. Once they reach around 13 years of age, many of our girls have had to leave the Saints and move to other clubs to continue playing rugby league.
We want to change that.
We want our girls to have the opportunity to continue their rugby league journey right here at Macarthur Saints.
Our vision is to create a pathway where girls can start their rugby league journey at the Saints, continue developing through the junior years and remain part of the club as they progress through the game.
More Than Just a Team
Our goal isn't simply to put together enough players for one season.
We want 2027 to be the beginning of a long-term girls rugby league pathway at Macarthur Saints.
By establishing teams now, we can create opportunities for younger girls coming through our club to see a future for themselves at the Saints.
That means: U6 → U7 →U8 → U9 → U10 → U11 → U12 → U13 → U14 → and beyond.
Instead of reaching an age where they have to ask "Where can I go to keep playing?", we want our girls to know:
"I can stay at the Saints."
Building Our Girls Teams
2027 is where it starts.
To make this vision a reality, our immediate focus is on establishing U13 and U14 girls teams for the 2027 season.
These age groups are particularly important to us because they represent the point where many girls would otherwise have to leave the club to continue playing.
We want to give our current Saints girls the opportunity to stay in the jersey, while also welcoming new players from across the Macarthur community.
