About Us

1981-1988

Founded in 1981 as St Thomas More JRL, Macarthur Saints JRLFC originated as a school and community-based junior rugby league club. In its inaugural season, the club fielded five teams, representing 66 players across the U6, U7, U8, U9 and U11 age groups. The first committee comprised six volunteers, five of whom took on additional roles as coaches or managers, laying the foundations for the club’s strong volunteer culture.

1989-2019

Following the conclusion of the 1988 season and a subsequent split from St Thomas More, the club entered a new phase of its history, officially adopting the name Macarthur Saints JRLFC Inc in 1989. This transition marked the beginning of an independent identity and set the foundation for continued growth and development. Since 1994, the club has been proudly based at Oswald Reserve in Rosemeadow, which has become its long-standing home ground, after previously operating from Thomas Acres Reserve in Ambarvale during its earlier years.

2021-2025

Over the years, the club has achieved significant on-field success, securing an impressive number of premierships across all age groups, from U6s through to A Grade Men’s competitions. This sustained success reflects the club’s strong focus on coaching, development, and a commitment to high standards both on and off the field. In addition to its team achievements, the club has also developed a number of players who have progressed through the junior ranks to reach the NRL, including current Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs player Marcelo Montoya, highlighting the club’s proud tradition of nurturing elite talent.

2026

Today, Macarthur Saints JRLFC continues to proudly serve the local community by providing a safe, inclusive, and family-focused environment where young players can learn, grow, and thrive. The club remains committed to developing not only skilled rugby league players, but also confident, respectful, and resilient individuals. Through strong coaching, dedicated volunteers, and a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship, Macarthur Saints JRLFC continues to nurture the next generation of players while maintaining its long-standing role at the heart of the local community.
